After the BUCS Conference passed last weekend, we would like to congratulate both our Men’s and Women’s BUCS Teams for their astonishing performance.
Our Women’s 1st Team is still set to face Stirling University in a quarter-finals match for the BUCS Trophy and managed to secure a joint 4th position with Edinburgh in BUCS Conference Scotish 1A.
For the first time in Glasgow University Fencing Club’s history the Men’s 1st Team have finished second in the Scotish 1A League, with a narrow loss to Dundee by 5 points for first place.
Congratulations to both our teams and we wish them good luck in their remaining bouts!
We’ve changed venue and training times! We’re now on campus, in the Stevenson Building. This change starts from the 13th of January.
The new training locations and times are as follows:
Wednesday – Activity Hall – 2000-2230
Friday – Studio 2 – 1800-1930
Friday – Studio 3 – 1800-1930
Two and a half hours of training time on Wednesday gives us more free-fencing time and flexibility, and the late start gives those with night classes or other sports a chance to attend.
We’ll post more information about the forthcoming training structure and agenda soon, stay tuned!
due to the school holidays we are very sorry to tell you that in the forthcoming week (13th and 15th of October) there will be no training sessions.
But we are looking forward to seeing you at training in two weeks time.
